How To PLay

STARTING THE GAME

Bocce takes place in two teams of two players each. Each player has two large balls called bocce. Teams will mutually decide or flip a coin to determine who will go first.

GAMEPLAY

Gameplay begins by throwing the pallino, where it lands becomes the target. The team throwing the pallino throws the first bocce. All players stand behind a general line to throw, alternating throws until all eight balls have been thrown. Players aim to land their bocce closest to the pallino. Whichever team is closest to the pallino throws first the following round.

SCORING

Only the team with the closest bocce to the pallino scores any points. The number of points earned is equal to how many of the winning teams bocce are closer to the pallino than the other team’s nearest bocce. If a player’s bocce touches the pallino it is called a baci, earning 2 points for that ball.

Winning

The first team to reach 11pts or more wins.
