I’m Romy Mount, Owner & Founder of Yard Games Hawaii. I’m often asked, “How did you come up with this idea?” The answer is simple: Yard Games Hawaii was born out of a desire for a change in lifestyle and a passion for bringing people together. It all started with a vision to create a space where friends and family could disconnect from their devices and reconnect with each other—through fun and laughter.
In the summer of 2018, I woke up to numbness in my right arm and constant nerve pain. After surgery and a period of recovery, I knew it was time to leave behind my career in the restaurant industry and follow my entrepreneurial dreams. I began building my first sets of Giant Jenga, Cornhole boards, and Yard Dominoes. By March 2019, I was renting them out—and by June, Yard Games Hawaii officially launched.
What started as a small idea quickly grew. By the end of 2019, we were hosting yard game tournaments, creating unforgettable beach days, and curating custom team-building experiences for both locals and visitors.
Over the years, Yard Games Hawaii has become more than just a business—it’s a community, a source of fun, and a way to bring people together to celebrate life’s best moments. As we continue to grow, I’m excited to offer even more creative games, entertainment options, and continue spreading the spirit of aloha.
